The first time I read the book, Business Model Innovation by Alex Osterwalder, I went wow, I wish I had known about this tool when I was running my business.  It is by far one of the most useful tools that I have come across as an Academic. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) shows how to create value for your business.  However, when you really want to understand your Customer, the Value Proposition Canvas developed by Osterwalder is one of the best tools available to help you in this regard. This shows how you create value for your customer. It wasn't an immediate wow when I read Alex's new book but over the years the concept has grown on me and I find this an invaluable tool as well.  This session will introduce the Value Proposition canvas.
